Forged Engine

Post by puggsy »

Just bought an EvoVIII 2Ltr forged engine off one of the MLR organizers. Should be sent down to Premiere Garage in Beccles for fitting soon. Won't be home for another week or so, but can't wait ti get it fitted and mapped. I'm going to put on a bigger tubby when i can afford it, but for the time being, just going to fit a uprated clutch and get it mapped. Will post some details when i'm home.

Built december 2008 by duncan @ hypertech performance only done 2k miles since.

Based on 20k mile 2003 Evo VIII engine
Torque plate bore + hone
Cp oversized 85.5mm pistons
Crower rods
Balance shaft removed
Standard crank
Acl race bearings
Arp main studs
Arp head bolts
Gas flowed cylinder head
Bc 272 cams with springs & retainers
Vernier pulleys
Greddy timing belt
Standard inlet manifold
I think with standard injectors and remap, hopefully up to about 380-390bhp and maybe the same torque. But if i get the right upgrades and turbo, maybe 500bhp and about 480 torque. The turbo i want is probably going to be a TT S205. I don't want to go any higher as i won't be much good on the road, as this is my every day car. But that will be further down the road. I'll have to send my Autronics ECU away to MAdevelopments to get unlocked, then get APT to remap it.

Sounds good bud, will be very useable power with plenty of potential. Just out of curiousity, what made you go for Premiere Garage to do the work? Do you normally go there? Has Darren still got his Evo?

Nice one..

Yep, normally go to Premiere, great bunch of guys there and Daz has still got his Evo. Engine swap should be pretty straight forward, ( i hope!)

Sounds good buddy - what is your current output?, guessing you are looking at another 100 or so .. so going to be quite a step up.

The last RR day at APT, it was putting out 353 atf @ 1.6bar. I'm sure it should be a bit more though. Might get anti-lag enabled as well for some good noise. Just ordered myself a new exhaust manifold from Ross Sport in a group buy on the MLR, saving about 250 quid.

Latest update on this, just bought a Exedy Twin plate clutch and also a refurbed TT S205 Turbo. The RossSport manifold should be there soon as well. A Toyo Sport uprated intercooler has been fitted now as well. Hopefully when i get home in feb, i can get the engine swapped out and of to MADevelopments for mapping! Can't wait to do a track day after that, if i can afford it after all this out lay.
