Forza 3

Post by RX7 »

Anyone seen the vids of Forza 3 shown at this years E3 show. Oh my god !!!!!!

It looks incredible, sounds like GT5 had better deliver something spectacular.

Forza 3 promises improved graphics (watch the vids below and be stunned!), in car views for all 400 cars, improved physics engine including rolling cars !!! Sounds awesome.

Checkout the vids:

GT5 is but Forza 3 is xbox 360 mate.

So far the vids above are making me lean towards Forza but if GT5 can deliver on the AI and the damage then it'll be very close.

Shame that nobody is going for different weather conditions though

Well the Forza demo is out now and here are my thoughts...

The graphics are amazing and very clear, a very impressive amount of detail in the backgrounds and impressive detail on the cars and cockpit views. The best part is a solid 60fps view, something that Shift struggles with.

The handling is brilliant and very similar to Forza 2. There are a plethora of driving aids that can be switched on and off. The most impressive being a manual clutch which I guess is to be used with a proper driving wheel setup.

Overall though the graphics are good, the handling is good and the engine sounds are good. So far it's a good solid effort from Take 10 but I can't help thinking about Shifts better interior views and sensation of speed and the sounds.
However it will be a good title to get and one I am looking forward to getting the proper version !!

:iagree:

Without doubt it's a step-up from Forza 2 and I'll definately be ordering a copy of the full game when I get a chance. :driving: After playing NFS Shift 'round Chris' (KrystenCTR) you notice the difference in the sensation of speed (Forza feeling slower), though you don't have to spend ages faffing about with the steering sensitivity, deadzones, etc to make the car handle like it should have from the start. Do EA not bother with testing? :banghead:

Thing is, for a demo of that size (1.3 Gb download) it's a bit disappointing- 1 track with a 2-lap race in one of 4 cars, and a time trial in an R8. You hardly have time to get a rhythm going before it's over and you're back to picking a car again, and where's the multiplayer mode?

:D

Thats exactly what I was thinking and what a lot of people are saying on another forum I'm on.

Still, its only a month to wait !!!

Got to say GT5 looks immense. Can't argue with the detail on Forza, but just comparing the videos, what's with all the stupid spins/doughnuts etc in the Forza video? I'll admit to having never played Forza, but I was under the impression it was on a par with GT5 as a 'simulator', rather than being like Need for Speed and getting points for driving skills and drifting etc??

GT5 for me!
