MK2 Golf

Post by steveVR6 »

Well the time has come to sell my mk2 track car. Have owned it for around 9 years, 8 of which have been used on track. The car has changed abit from when I first got it, and is in track spec now.

Started with big bumpers

Then with small bumpers

Car Spec:
1986 Golf gti 8v Kjet
Engine prepared by Scole Engineering (no receipts)
Piper cam and adjustable pulley
Ashley system with 4 branch manifold
Modified air filter
Raceland suspension
Brembo front disks
Perspex windows
Cobra Evolution drivers seat
Cobra Clubman passenger seat
Sparco harnesses
Sparco steering wheel with quick release
small dashboard
Front and rear strutbrace
2 sets of wheels and tyres

Faults:
Starter motor sometimes misses, but will start
Slight exhaust blow

The car has done around 40 trackdays, sprinting and autotesting and is a great car to drive. It will lap Snetterton in the mid 1.20's and will put alot more exspensive cars to shame. A great car if you are looking into getting into the trackday scene.

Price:
Need a quick sale

Wow
The end of an era.

I have known Steve and his Golf since moving up to the Shire in the last century. The car is durable, pretty fast and so much fun. Anyone that has tried to follow Steve around Snetterton soon finds out they had better go careful if they want to keep up in the twisties.

This would certainly make a nice tough trackday car for someone on here and an ideal first dedicated track car.

Best of luck with the sale Steve.

Cheers Stu,

A hard decision but having abit of a mid life crisis at the moment, just leaving my job which I've been doing for the past 12 and abit years :? and going elsewhere. Family comes first at the moment, so the money would be handy. Get the next 12 months out of the way, and hopefully come back with something smaller and quicker, thinking bike powered car

Viewing for car is possible anytime if anyone is interested, just sitting in my drive at the moment feeling sorry for itself!!!!
