End of an era....

Post by TonyB »

The time has come that I thought never would. I have decided to give up the GT4 and break her to recoup some hard earned.

To cut a long story short the car has been on stands for over 6 months with a water pump problem. This in itself is not much of an issue, although it is engine out to fix, but I seem to have lost all enthusiasm for her. I also do not appear to have the required time or cash available atm.

6 years of blood, sweat, and tears - literally - have gone into my beloved car. Taking it from a standard 200bhp heavy snail, to a 370/400 squealing whippet, with every bit of work done with my own hands (little assistance here and there of course) from the mechanics to electronics to mapping. I have been going over and over and over it, endured a number of sleepless nights, and my mind is now made up. Thanks to BP I have also come to realise that the way forward is a lighter car, which will be just as much fun on track, and cost a whole lot less to run. I am not a rich man, and Lindsey makes sure that it stays that way regardless of pay rises

So I will take a year or two off the fast car ownership, get my new garage built that I have been promising myself, and comeback to it with a fresh enthusiasm.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Big Power members for being such a fine and great bunch of car freaks. I would thank individuals but I am bound to miss someone, you know I don't like to upset, and you know who you all are anyway ;-)

I do hope I will still be welcome here while I do not have a trackable car, but you do not get rid of me that easily :P . I will make a post of non-GT4 specific stuff for sale that may be of interest to you.

Sorry to hear you're selling up, however, if Stuart is anything to go by with his recent Skyline in bits sale and decision to buy a lighter track day car you should have shedloads of fun to look forward to in the very near.

Good luck with selling :thumb:

Cheers Guys,

You will still see me at meets for sure

Today has been a hard day, coming up with a list for sale, and having to mark a lot of it as sold :(

Had a couple of moments of regret, but I am still thinking it is the right thing to do. Damn I hope I sleep tonight
