Prolong Oils

Post by Pike »

Has anyone had any experience of any Prolong Oils products?
They are the control fluids provider for this year's GTI championship but I've never heard of them. I'm a little concerned by having to use engine/gearbox oil that I've never heard of before.
The Millers oil provided last year was exceptional.

Never heard of them Luke - looks interesting stuff and for the price it must be decent but I think you are right to be cautious. I presume that the oil is free to competitors?

Its very money grabbing and a pain in the arse to be perfectly honest. I wish it was free Duncan.
You have to buy a full set of oils (engine, gearbox & additives) to be eligible to race.
I'm probably going to run the gearbox oil as it will save me the cost of buying anymore, but I'm no too happy with the engine oil. Having spent every penny on machining and hours and hours getting everything together I'm very reluctant to run it on some mickey mouse product no one's heard of, (well apart from Eddy  ).
As Gerry has eluded to I don't know how or if they will check I'm running the engine oil (they probabky won't care after they've got the money) so I'll think I'll stick to the Millers.
