My Goodyear F1's will need replacing very soon, just wondering whats recommended as a very good grippy tyre. Tempted with the new F1 Asymmetrics but they don't do 215/40/17 in them :?
So do I get another set of the Goodyear F1 GSD3's or something diffferent :?:

They're very good on the road in these slimy conditions, very cheap, and were ok at Barkston last year. Felt like very little grip at Barkston but I think it was the same for everyone on 1B's.
From limited experience I'd say GSD3's are good for road and sprint, but for lap-after-lap use on a trackday they'll overheat and wear quickly.

The Toyo Proxes 4 although a performance tyre are more for large high speed barges.
The T1R's are a better tye for Scoobys with fantastic wet grip, and pretty damn good in the dry. However, you'll have to pump them up fairly hard to get them to turn in more sharply than at usual tyres pressures. They are reinforced though so should stand a fair bit of punishment, and the high silica content keeps them sticky and helps prevent overheating.
I have been using them since i've had my car (3yrs) as UK weather is mostly more wet than dry. I go through a new set every year. See Camskill for those.
The R888's are the ones to go for on track and i hear once they are warmed up can be used to good effect in the wet too, but they don't like standing water. However, if you are competing you may be restricted on tyres, although i don't know. Find the very cheapest price you can for the R888's, then go to Camskill as they reckon nobody does them cheaper, and they'll better it again!!
