hi, I just thought someone on here might know the answer to this?

i have just bought a new pc tower, good spec etc, however it said it had 250 gb hard drive, but it has three

now ive literally only just turned it on, but if i try and install anything it always wants to go to the drive thats full C:/

and even if i change the directory within the installations to D:/ or E:/, which have plenty of space, it always reverts back, i cant even install flipping i tunes and im going mental!! Its sunday, there is no help lines and all i want to do is use it! Help!! :x :x

They have partitioned the main drive into 3 partitions.

Use D: as your drive and E: for data.

how do i do this?! Is there a system setting to change this? As the defult is always the C:/ one that is full!! 1.4Mb left :(

I can;t believe they'd set it up leaving you 1.4 meg - where did you get this from? ..

When you go to install programs can you manually type in the other drives ..

Alternatively does vista allow live partition editing? .. i.e can you adjust the size of each partition.

i think there is a setting in the reg that alllows you too setup default installation path, i will find out tomorrow for you .

I got it from bennets... it just seems really really stupid... i cant put any applications on as some dont give you the option of having to change installation directory...

bloody stupid...

Live partition editing? I hope so.. im not to clued up on this whole new running program though!!

Help appreciated guys!! :grin:
