E39 BMW 520i Overheating

Post by V8_EATR »

I need help! So far we've changed the thermostat, thermostat seal, thermostat housing, water pump and seal and radiator. Car is still overheating. None of the hoses are leaking and we bled the car properly. The heater still doesn't blow hot air. Where do I go next?? Please help!

i dont know much , but could be worth taking a rad hoses off and connecting a hosepipe to the top one and flushing it through that way, may help if there is a blockage , done it to one of my old cars once and it cured it , like i say though i know very little

I know the 3 series suffer from the heater matrix blocking causing other water problems may be worth a check!!

I agree...reverse flushing the heater matrix is a good idea. If you could get hold of a water system pressure tester that would tell you if you have a leak. Maybe there is still a load of air trapped in the heater matrix.
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!
