Cheers for the comments the lake i fish is a specimen lake and all the carp are British carp and have matured with the lake so they are very old and wise big beds of bait dont work so that rules out spodding all i tend to do is a very small amount of loose feed which is delivered precisely where i want it via my bait boat so accuracy is spot on every time :-D But it took over 168 hours of fishing the lake trying different methods and rigs and general walking round and observing before i connected with one and that was not one big session but 2 nights here and so on. I shall now stay there till i have cracked it and had one of the 30's out and plenty of others :-D I have also had a 20 lb 1oz common but did not get pictures of that forgot the camera :( so im heading in the right direction. So for the people who think carp fishing is easy and have never tried be my guest
