Start and Finish of the ring

Post by pablo »

After watching some footage from the ring I just wanted to check on whhere the start point is.
After you pass throught he barriers and get on the straight there is bridge with Bilstein on it. Is that the strat point or is it the first gantry where you turn right :?

It's the bridge at the start of the lap, just beyond the end of the cones.

You'll often see the phrase or abbreviation, BTG (Bridge to Gantry) which is where a lot of the unofficial times are measured. The 'proper' start finish line is adjacent to the old pits before you turn in for the left hander that leads into the complex known as Hatzenbach IIRC.
