Brought a new headunit...

Post by Safety_James »

Just bought a new headunit..plugged new one in, with everything disconnected.. go to turn it on..
nothing!! Only the power to the ariel makes it move up and down..

So then i went to check all the fuses... that are related to the audio.. those are all fine... so im lost for ideas!

so i think thats a little odd, go and try the old stereo, yet again the ariel works, but not the stereo this time, what have i done!!

Cant be anything to do with the ignition live feed as my avcr and Safc turn on!!

Its getting frustrating and terribly annoying!! HELP!! :x

From what I can remember, I had this problem on the S14a.

The stereo earths through the frame that you bolt it to and when you bolt the centre consul frame back in, it should earth through the mounting screws. I ran in a seperate earth wire from the stereo to one of the gear lever rubber gaiter mounting bolts.

Hopefully that is your problem :D
