Newbie from Gt Yarmouth area saying hello

Post by Bealo »

Hello all

My mate Ian (don't know his user name) he's got an Evo8 told me about the site and i must say i like it. Registered paid my money and here i am.

Well i work in the Oil industry abroad on a month and a month rotation.

I have had all sorts of cars (all modified) started with a Renault 5 GT Turbo, Renault 5 4x4 Cosworth, 3DR Cosworth, BMW E36 M3 EVO, Mitsubishi Evo 7, Renault Clio 182 Cup, and now a BMW M3 CSL which is here to stay as i love it to bits.

I'm in the middle of sorting some decent front brakes for it and they should be ready to go on next time i get home (20th June) so i will definately being hitting the track some time soon.

I've had a go up santa Pod and got a 13.7 @104mph with a poor start so i'm hoping to improve on that.

I really want to have a go at drifting and will be putting my name down for a go ASAP.

Future mods on the wish list for the CSL include, KW suspension, full exhaust,Cats and Stage 2 remap. Would love to go the whole hog and supercharge it but not 100% convinced about it yet so we will wait on that one.

Anyway thats enough about me, i will be attending some events when i'm in the country and i'm looking forward to meeting you all and your exciting cars.

Welcome Stu - what a great car history you have had :thumb:

I have to say that I love CSL's after seeing them rule the roost over at the Nurburgring. Would be fun seeing it drifting or on track with us :D

Welcome to the club Stuart.

Sounds like you've got some serious plans for the CSL, it'll be a bit rapid I can imagine.

We've got plenty of events lined up over the summer culminating in our second trip to the Nurburgring this year in September, so plenty of opportunity for you to 'walk the walk' and even take your car back to it's spiritual home!

Hope to see you at an event soon!

Thanks for the welcome Guys

Not sure i'll be doing much drifting to start with Duncan more like spinning round in circles lol.

I just missed the Easter ring visit with some friends (Mike Rainbird) and the rest of the mad lot. It's a place i really want to go and drive, not sure about walk the walk though, but i'll try my best to keep up lol.

TonyB_GT4

I was into Renault 5 GT Turbo's big time but wanted Cosworth power so i had D&J Motorsport build me one. It was basically a 5 shell with Cosworth 4x4 running gear in it.
It was on the front cover of Revs a few years ago and was voted number 15 in Max Power all time top 100 modified cars a while back.

It did a 12.63 @ 106mph with a crappy engine in it. i had a 400bhp engine in my 3dr that did a terminal of 114mph. i would have loved to have had that engine in the 5, it would have got into the 11s easily.

Unfortunately it caught fire and was beyond repair before i could start developing the engine.

I've got the mags and some pictures at home somewhere, i'll dig them up.
