Track Day Insurance - Cost???

I know I can get quotes for this, but I can not be arsed at this stage :lol:

I do not bother insuring the Celica for track days, have never even looked, but I am fancying taking the Octavia on a session! Don't laugh, I fancy seing what it can do. So

I got a quote once with an independent and was looking at

Wow, that is a lot! I think I will leave the Skoda at home and stick to the taking the banger to the track :lol:

They wanted 2% of cars worth when I enquired for the GT3,

Ronnie told me they really dont like GT3RS as they almost all get written off on track so they avoid them like the plague, even his normal insurance was a great deal higher than his GT2 !!!

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why they are going to charge a fair amount for track insurance. 2% of value tho? That is like them giving less than a 1 in 50 chance of crashing.

No way can I justify that amount of money ontop of a track day cost, so I will just stick to using a car where it does not matter if I trash it :twisted:

That's a great point Cod!

Who are you already insured with Tony? I think I'm right in saying that Cods price quoted above is a supplement that you can pay if you are a policy holder with KM for that day. Your existing insurer may be able to offer something similar, as the price I passed on was for a freestanding policy. Got to be worth a phonecall :thumb:
