Adam's Update!

Post by AdamP »

Well I thought i'd give you an update of whats going on around here car wise :p

I'm currently doing my GCSEs which is why i haven't been on here too much recently (revision and all that).

The Impreza Spec-D is run in and goes like poo off a shovel. The sound about 4000rpm is phenomenal even with the intake silencer and standard exhaust! A sort of whistling roar, much more purposeful than the old WRX. The leather seats make cornering interesting, but the seats are supportive and with the CG-Locks on they are as good as the standard STi seats (though not as nice, supportive and shapely as the ones in the old '02 WRX!). It really does eat up A and B roads, and overtakes effortlessly.

The Locost hasn't really gone far. I plan to get going with it soon by making some decent engine mounts, fixing the roll bar in place and painting the chassis :D

Most of my car time recently has been spent on my Polo (not really big-power fodder, but car related). Fitted nice bucket seats aquired from a family friend for free, attempted to sort the exhaust (70mm of lowering had brought it about an inch off the floor) and ended up making it worse as it now rattles against the tunnel! Also found that the headgasket is weeping slightly from the main oil way to the edge, not too much of a problem but i have to top it up regularly :( I've also been refurbing some nice BBS wheels for it :)

Myself and my dad have also decided we would like to get into a spot of hillclimbing next year, and are therefore on the look out for a cheap, sub 1400cc hatchback to strip out and have fun with :) So if anyone knows of a Metro GTi, Corsa SRi etc going for a couple of hundred then let me know (MOT failiure would probably be the best option).

Also looking forward to going to the Nurburgring in the Impreza in the summer and working at Gould Racing for a month!

:D

Possibly some pictures coming soon ;)
