He shot it first then mounted it on a bent coat hanger (painted to suit the background) - arranged the wings and snapped away

Interestingly - for me that is - this morning was on the machine reading BP heard a bit of a curfuffle outside - a pair of Jays were fighting over I guess a tree, stick or something - took some pics anyway ..

But havent's seen a jay for blumming ages ...
