finally finished decorating

Post by duncan »

well, after weeks of going down to Eastbourne every weekend to decorate my mum's house it is now finished and ready to be sold - it will save me a fortune in petrol although got the trip down to 2 1/4 hours door to door :o

Fingers crossed people will like the new all magnolia approach - I know my mum would have hated the magnolia but it had to be done :D

It looks huge now in just one colour and with all the shelf holes filled and bodges from her boyfriend put right ... what was he thinking with some of them ?

.... I dont want to see another paint brush or roller again!!

Well if you miss the drive and the decorating... about to start doing mine, how much time could you knock off a run up to Sheffield? ;)

went down on sunday afternoon and got started then up at 6 and with paintbrush in hand by 7am did...

- dismantled shelves iin two rooms
- filled holes
- sanded filler
- cleaned and tidied bathroom
- redid grouting
- two coats of magnolia on two rooms
- painted celiengs in two rooms
- glossed two rooms
- cleaned kitchen
- cleaned windows
- painted garage door twice in Satin Black (it had to be satin black :) )
- moved stuff out to the garage
- hoovered
- cleaned toilet
- mopped floor
- filled a massive hole in a wall with spray foam filler - that stuff is amazing and just grows and grows like it has a life of its own :o

and then a rather nice drive home at a brisk pace in time for a late tea and glass of wine :D :D

god i'm bloody knackered now.
