Rev limit.

Whats the standard rev limit set at on the RB26?
I have 11K nismo clocks in mine so not sure what it will be and dont fancy hitting it accidently!

I seem to remember 8,250 or thereabouts. You car will have passed peak figures by 7,500 anyway (at best) so no need to go that far mate

On a normal RB26 Mark at Abbey says peak is 6800 so going past 7000 is pointless.

Yes - sorry - crap wording - Stu is right with the limiter 8250 is where a stock ECU would cut in. But i'm sure you don't have a stock one !!

So no need to go past 7000 is a good general rule.

Ron set mine at 8200 and I use the limiter as an audible 'time to change gear' warning :lol: :lol: :lol:

..........I really must get my boost in earlier :-D

Dan, you crack me up.............remember when you taught me 'red is dead' regarding the rev limit :lol: It would be intersting to see how far out the revs are too...........well, none of the other guages are accurate, so why would the revs be any different?

Your not wrong big fella...........my actual revs are 600rpm less on my cars tacho than the real life revs ie: 8000 rpm showing on my stock tacho was only 7400 rpm in reality, the margin got higher the further up the revs you went right upto just over 600 out at the redline

. I was gutted to find this out because the whole time I had my twins I was changing way to early.

So coupled with the stock boost guage and oil pressure guage which are also 'suspect' I may as well just use the force to monitor things

.......until I am swiming in cash the defi's will have to wait and I'll continue to use the 'drive until it stops' policy!!

Going to get a rev. limiter fitted to the janspeed at both Cadwell and Donnington myself nad Bart found the car hitting it's pre set cut-out whilst indicating abouit 5800rpm. Bart changed the rev counter between sessions at Donnington and new rev counter was much better. However don't want to risk blowing the engine.
