The right wing from my local rugby club is busy outside spannering my cars for me...tonight he's done brake pads on the M3, and it now putting a new fairing on the race bike. Sunday he's changing fluids and doing some weightloss stuff on the E30.
FIve quid an hour. [1]
Doncha just love YTS trainees?

[1] This represents a significant payrise over his week job. And we feed him. And he gets to ogle my wife. Lucky boy.
Bless
Sounds like fair payment. Nice to see the redistribution of wealth is alive and well. I trust the young servant knows his trade? I also trust the wife isn't ogling young right wing too

He does indeed know his trade, and its amazing how much work my cars need doing if it's effectively free...new turbo on the 940, brake pads all round on the M3, *LOADS* of stuff on the E30.stuartstaples wrote:Sounds like fair payment. And wifie is immune to his 18 year old charms, but daughter number 1 did insist on a goodnight kiss from him. SHe's only 4 though, so no need to panic. In any case, I pulled some gorilla like outside centre off him in a gentle mid second half punch up the other week, so he owes me...

Ah, the old 'Appeal to Misleading Authority' fallacy.323ian wrote:You know what they say,

Like it!
Let me ask you this - when you go into your local BM dealership, and pay 80 quid an hour - how much do you think the trainee mechanic (who may well be doing the brakes on your car) gets paid?
For basic mechanicing, I'm happy to use a mechanic with 2 years fulltime training and work experience. That's more than I'll ever have.
For getting my Vanos hand tuned, I'll use the local BM specialist.
For penury, I'll return to the main dealer merrygoround.

Fair play I say. If he is willing to do the work and is happy with the amount you are paying him (more than his day job pays, as you said) then why not?
I only wish I could get one of the guys that works for me to do mechanical work on my vehicles when we are not busy.
Wait a minute....... I do
:D
Good on you James
