Well wish this was an update to say car now running but hydraulic lifters not turned up yet :x :x so not been able to find out if they will solve the problem or not. Until they arrive not going to strip rocker cover off and do anything with it as will just have to do it all again when they arrive.

So in true project thread fashion I have decided if you can't fix what you've got go and buy some parts you don't really need at present but are quite cool to cheer yourself up!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D :-D

New Bumper (note the lack of a bodged fibreglass repair on right hand side!!!)

Image

New Irmscher spoiler (Not warped like mine)

Image

And a pair of new STEEL Rear arches to replace P38/P40 mix arches currently in place

Image

Think tomorrow night may have to fit new bumper and spoiler but will have to leave arches for now as got to learn to weld!!

Well ummmm no have to say not going to attempt that one want to use a paint which I think would be too expensive to risk that and also have never sprayed car in my life and seeings jay not going to let me practice on the skyline think the job may well go to a very well known body shop!!!!! :-D :-D
Some things are just worth paying the extra to make sure they are done properly.

For sure, I haven't got much of a clue about cars, and no facilities, a little knowledge is dangerous, spraying is definitely worth leaving to the pro's.....If you want something doing properly, get someone else to do it!

And I thought jay was a bodge artist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well managed to get out and have a look at car tonight and discovered some more of the bodgework I am coming to expect everytime I look at anything.
Took bumper off (more to get easier access to bottom of the car than to fit new one) this was only held on by end brackets (two of which where broken) so not connected to chassis at all yet another example of the bodge job this car has been made into previously.
Had a look at the oil pressure sender to try to get this to work to establish if oil pump is working and found an oil pressure sender with burnt wire and no earth so know why that isn't working. Have got new one should be here tomorrow (ordered this myself so if wrong can only blame myself as new lifters arrived and where for an ohc engine thanks to Jay telling me in was a C20NE not a 20E or 20S. Good job i love him!!!!
The amount of sheer bodge jobs on this car no wonder she isn't running right!!!
Hopefully tomorrow we may find out the oil pressure and if the pump is working. Best hope it is as the pump is a discontinued part!!!!!!!!
