James, has the new circuit layout killed many engines since the changes?
I remember that scooby's and evo's on slicks had issue's but not normal stuff having problems?

Ill be honest, suprisingly not. You'd think it may have done but it hasnt. There has been more brakes being destroyed than engines.

haha no worries there job it doesnt get tucked away on a evening or wrapped in cotton wool :)

just thought i'd bling it up a bit, the sump cleaning does have a purpose, the cleaner it is the easy it is to weld to with the baffles

Make sure you clean the oil cooler out well mate. May have come off a car after engine failure.

update

Post by Rob_B »

got the poly bushes fitted on friday and the car feeling so much better, obviously i haven't been able to properly test the handling as am still wearing in the new bearing in the engine

car feels more positive on turn in and rides over bumps better then it did before, before it seem to lumber about over bumps and roll around the corners like an old boat but not any more, the car has improved considerably

also i have been working on baffling the sump i had bead blasted, this is going to be a longer on going task, but im sure i'll get there in the end

im now deciding what mod to sort next, either gauges, brakes or oil cooler

Look very much like the Defi's in their start up sequence (I'm sure that's no coincidence :) ) Good value from a quick Google for prices..........those or an oil cooler would take preference over brakes in my opinion; preferably both!

Did you fit the bushes yourself mate?

You need to get some details up of your new unit- show the guys what you've been up to

The gauges look good but I'd have a read about them on a few forums first. If there anything like the Prosport prostepper gauges which they look a lot like they can be trouble.
