What a great quote. Funny but so true also. I'm sure you would have stayed and played if you'd have had any competition, someone pushing you for a time, but alas poor Yorick, that was not to be.

I have to admit I was looking a four wheel drives last night :oops:

Crap geometrry, dodgy clutch/gearbox, 888s and a fogged screen. How many more excuses do you need?

You've driven the car, as it is, half a dozen times and never in those conditions. Best to sort what you have and look forward to next season. Remember Cadwell rather than Debden

Of course, you could go the route of B3 and separate the class into 2 and 4wd :roll:

Barring the weather it was a good day, well done Kim you were outrageously fast! Logan was right about the Duncans being able to pedal, it was nip & tuck between me & them but I ended up behind the pair of them, 4th in class & (provisionally) 4th fastest time overall, although the weather played into the hands of the 4WD machinery I was pretty chuffed about the results.

A good turn out from BP as is becoming customary these days. Nice to meet up with Andy916, there wasn't quite the usual chatty atmosphere & banter in the paddock, but i put that down to the weather & most people hiding in thier cars for most of the day (guilty :oops: ).The 2008 BP D8 battle has ended 2-1 to Gerry, but should be interesting in 2009. I think having put an eligable gearbox in the 996 Bill beat Brian, which pleases me as now Brian hasn't got the "he's cheating" excuse for having his ass kicked. Good on Bill.

TK was trying hard on tired tyres & did have a bit of an excursion:

Not alot of grip on these tyres

Got a bit dirty whilst hurtling through the grass backwards

There were even mud splatters on the roof

OK so it wasn't the swansong of the season we were all hoping for, but still a grin & hopefully i'll see you all again in the 2009 season (or maybe some of you at Lydden in a couple of weeks if i can convince myself i need to enter)

Good show all.

I will update the scores on the doors but at a guess I would say Ben and Gerry take their class by dint of being the only ones in them, and class 2 goes something like Logan, Russ, Trev.

Awards dinner usually sometime around February 2009. There will be something new for next year, a BP sprint champ will replace the JISC and be more inclusive (so the German cars can enter). I won't say anymore as our man Stu picks up the baton from here.

Hopefully next season's championship will see a fairer and more even spread of classes. Personally I don't take much gratification in winning when all I have to do is show up. Ben won his class and did only 2 events. Trev, drove the nuts off his car every time out and gets a third. It's life but it doesn't seem just.

I was just thinking that. I remember when we had 2 classes in 750MC stock hatch, up to 1.4 and 1.6. Pretty much everyone run the larger class apart from about 5 in Metros, one of which won the champ as the scores were in the same table! We didn't even know the winner on a personal level.

Quite tricky to get right, as if someone in class 1 worked their nuts off all season and the scores were combined, they would stand no chance of winning. Its hard to do much but mirror the MSA classes tbh.

Cheers for the kind words peeps, despite being wet to the bone, fogged up car and almost running out of petrol on the last run after they held me on the line for a while when timing equip went tits up, i still managed a good day, with a great result! I almost couldn't believe when i read 12th OA, in a little 1600 205!! Indeed the wet seems to be a great leveller!

Now matched the amount of rounds the S2000 has done, and leading is a great feeling, just hoping he doesn't enter Lydden at the end of the month, as i didn't plan on doing that one!

Well done everyone, Kim was blisteringly quick, and Trev looked to be going for it, as was Gerry! And Stu the BM sounded glorious as usual, keep meaning to ask the spec! Weather was apalling though, hence my apologies for not being very chatty!

Btw Kim, i'll be in a different car/class next year, and the blue 205 may be up for sale!

Wrong wheel drive or not, oversteer on demand...!! :lol:
