Well, after moving house 4 weeks ago and doing house stuff and more house stuff and even more house stuff I decided to buy something I had always wanted but never had the room for..........a red tool chest !!

Behold....


and this will please Mr Connor......


Nothing else to report for the Rex, been having a blast in the Civic which has been a breath of fresh air just driving and coping with all the house move bits, painting tins, furniture and the tool chest above.

More will be revealed on the Rex in the future though........

Ok so to go with the tool chest I also bought some racking and a workbench with vice (not yet bolted down as the drill battery was flat....damn cordless drills !)

So with that in mind I polybushed the wishbones I had the old bushes pressed out by Gary. New ones went in fine bar a couple which I just couldn't do without the vice and the cotton reel style ones were easy with a vice. Definitely having the right tools makes jobs easy !!



Nothing much else to report apart from updates soon.

Harnesses I bought off Mr Connor when he sold his Skyline and have been hoarding them ever since. Hoarding bits seems to be a good trend of mine, some in the garage not fitted, some on the way from the motherland.

It's a bit of luck you don't drive the Rex as those harnesses with those seats spells disaster (read into submarining mate)

Depends how he's mounted them at the rear doesnt it? They have to be parallel to the floor, as in level with your shoulders to the mounting points at the rear.

You got a proper harness bar at shoulder height Gareth?

Come on guys, you should know by now that I never do anything dodgy with my cars !!
I have a Re-Amemiya harness bar thats bolted between the two struts so yep the harnesses are fitted properly at shoulder height and level to the floor.

Have you ever been in a Rex......there isn't enough room to slide forward under the belts

In all fairness it's no different to how Ben fitted them in the Skyline.

In those seats you say.......

If the seats weren't designed to be used with harnesses over the shoulder then they stand a chance of collapsing under the impact of a crash (and you breaking your back). A 'proper' seat designed for harnesses would not. As for 'Ben had them the same'.........well, two wrongs don't make a right.
