We have suffered yet another engine failure along the same lines as the first. Bore No.3 developed a small crack whilst road testing the car.

Gordon was mortified and embarressed because as he said, it was he who convinced us to go this route as it would be more reliable than Herbie.

Alan was close to loosing his temper and i'm glad that he was bunged up with the flu as no energy no shout or rant.

We initially came up with a plan to get it stripped, sleeved and rebuilt by the 9th, in time for snetterton, with the help of the guy doing the sleeving, but I have now decided not to, as both Alan and Gordon have the flu and this would require both of them to work some long days.

I also have some concerns about this block now. It is obviously weak and even if we sleeve it the crack would still be there and my concern is that the crack could grow under the stresses of how it will be used. Gordon is looking into this for us. If we go for another block it will be sleeved from the start.

On the upside the car feels nice, sorry felt nice, and the quickshift is about a 1/3 of the movement of Herbie.

This is so embarrassing after everything that you guys did to help us. We will still be at snetterton to meet up with anyone going.

Are you getting your money back then? For my part, you are welcome to keep it to go towards the next one.
