Good luck Maff, I'd be far more concerned if the oily bits were fooked, you seem to be cracking on really well.
Nah the oily bits are the fun bist, the rust drives me nuts, it's why I gave up on the 200, but needs must!

This weekend bugger all is happening because 2 of my wonderful colleagues came in to work ill and spread it around (gonks!) So I'm manfully complaining and being waited on :) Replacement wheel nuts and studs arrived, and a new puddle light for the drivers door. Hopefully can crack on next weekend, weather dependant.

No such luck, still crook.

Simple stuff, refitted drivers door card straight, put new puddle lamp in. Another coat of FE123 over the patch I have done.

A dry, snot free, week would be nice. :/

Well Thursdays hangover lasted into Saturday, so not a lot was achieved then.

A meal out on Saturday night with the family got me back on track (On which note, the Dunstable Arms in Sheringham does an awesome gourmet burger Beef and Pulled pork! Yum).

And today, the air grinder was put to use, gets in places an electric one cannot reach, so at last all the crap metal is now gone. I started to weld plate one and the heavens opened, typical.

So I FE-123'd the inside of the wing, removed the bumper supports for repair and gave up and went inside and built a cupboard in the bathroom. I have the horrible feeling that I should have pulled my finger out before the weather turned. Doh.

Better late than never at all though, and the weather hasn't got that bad just yet. Not tried the pub in Sheringham so thanks for that :grouphug:

You buy an old Jag, hangovers last days instead of hours. I'm seeing a pattern here

This is what's now going to happen.

You'll be sat there all snug and warm when the urge to go to the toilet suddenly rears it's head. As you get older less bladder control. You forget that both feet are in a slipper and as you jump to your feet you fall hard to the floor breaking your hip. To add insult to injury you then piss yourself.

Now explain that one to your family without them running off to look at care homes

Yay, a dry day.

Put the Jag back on its wheels and used Nigel to drag it out of the Puddle it was sat in. Did you know Clio 182's don't have rear towing eyes? No? Me neither till I couldn't find one! Gah. They do have bits to tie stuff down in the boot, plenty good enough!

Cut out and tacked in the plates that would form the floor:

Ill weld them in place from underneath as that's were I need to stop the water getting in.

Inner sill still needs cutting straight and extending to meet the new floor:

Cut the rot out from the outer sill

At which point this happened:

The welder had a total fit, couldn't get a decent weld for love nor money, god knows, it was like welding without gas spattery crap. Hmmmm. Tomorrow I'll clean the tip up and see if I cant get bloody thing working right again.

Anyway, progress of a sort. Might even drive it soon.
