I think i may have been a bit hasty really.
Ive cancelled the purchase on the air-box, having done extensive research, its really not worth it for the money, and the supposed gains, id get more out of the car if i spent the money elsewhere, ill stick with OEM for the moment.
That was a near miss.
Have bought a few other things though, will add details once installed.

Right to cut a long story short ive managed to get into my possession a Spoon ECU for free off a sort of relative..

Now i'm not to clued up on this at all and what it does. Some say its a plug and play device that is supposed to work with simple breathing modifications, and i'm aware it drops the 'Vtec Yo' level down..
Ive listed it for sale in the first instance on the Integra Owners club as i'm not sure its what i really need/want on the car anyway but i wanted some advise in the interim so i can make my mind up...
Thanks!

I know where the ECU goes, but by swapping them over it removes the Immobiliser which i don't want to do as many have screwed up by doing so.
Apparently when plugging the original back in it it still wont work and i cant afford to not be able to drive it so its not worth the risk which is why i wanted advise as all posts on the net seem fairly vague or provide in-consistent information. There seem to be so many different opinions everywhere i just want the facts. At this rate anyway i'm probably going to sell it and use the money elsewhere. That with the combined money saved from not buying the Mugen airbox should provide a lot of useful bits from my list.
Got a lot planned for the winter which should transform the car.

Just spoke to Steve at Spoon Sports Europe ( the only distributor in Europe and their located in the UK) and he said...
There shouldnt be a problem, its plug and play and hes not heard of any problems with DC2's. In any case if the immobilizer doesnt work which it may not as the ECU is specifically designed for the JDM model DC2 you will regain the cars normal / standard functions when plugging in your standard ECU.
He was worried that it could be a black market i.e fake ECU as the ECU's sell for nearly

Great info from cannit. Well done for finding all this out.
If the Ecu is genuine it sounds like you have a bargain and worth a try if cannits info is correct and it will not upset the immobiliser circuit. If in doubt sell it on and spend the money elsewhere like you say.
We all know how difficult it is to get much more out of these engines NA so panel filter with modified airbox inlet, decat and exhaust is ok, which you have done i think. Spend your money on chassis, brakes etc instead.
