This is where he is at

The top of the air box and filter have been removed and will have a lid fabricated on. A hole has been cut in the wheel arch and a pipe fed through, the pipe has been fibreglassed to the air box.

The pipe exits into the space behind the front bumper and this is where the cone filter will sit. This is also the reason for the new bumper to provide a direct air feed to it direct from outside of the car

Glad to see you were carefull not to damage my logo :D

After deciding that the old bonnet was beyond repair Alan cut out the Evo vents and decided to refit it into another bonnet. This bonnet will also be going through the lightening process.

well we couldn't have done now could we kev its a icon :-D

with reference to you comment about the bonnet mate flexing it was a good point
but because of the evo vent that sits in the middle and is pot rivited in it has given it stiffness again.

Another weekend and a little further on with the rebuild. Alan turned up nice and early to make a start on the bonnet
The new bonnet is quite a bit lighter then the old one, will get this one weighed to compare the difference

Seat refitted today having been lowered bu 2 inches, new washer bottle fitted as the oil cooler took up the space of the original one, this also ment moving the coil. Started to fit the new rear shocks as well but will need some minor modifications as they are for a cossie.
We have one weekend left to finish all the fabrication work before we get on with the task of rebuilding the engine

We need it in and working for the mot but that's not the main reason for fitting it. Alan has another idea for its use which I am looking into the feasability of
