I am not wanting to argue as I appreciate your sentiments I just dont follow why fitting a cage in a series where a cage is not compulsory is going to reduce safety for me. Nothing here had made it clear to me why this would be the case. Maybe I am just stoopid

I have no idea why FIA SFI cages are not compulsory in the clubman class?? :? Looking through the regs they have tightened up a number of regulations though. Which can only be for the good from what I can see. At the end of the day all competitors will be driving 500+ BHP @ 101% round some fast circuits. I am sure you've seen/felt you car clip a rumble strip or kerb and loose its balance, or had a grassy off and nearly dug in? I don't think I need to explain anymore? :lol:

My assumption is that TA had to get the series launched and were a little lax with the safety regulations to appeal to a wider audience.

I am going to make one out of either 4mm or 6mm marine grade plywood sprayed matt black (of course) in the same way as the ARP front splitter works.

I have got a price on some but collection was from Harlow i think.

I will take a wander up the boatyards in Ely and see what turns up.
