But why do u need a cage if using slicks :?:
Higher cornering speeds equal more chance of turning the car over onto its roof

Hehe, wasn't it at Brands that you once featured in the Bemsee crash video? The one where you bin it, then try to walk through the gap in the tyre wall and don't quite fit (commentator: "he's a big lad, James!")

<runs and hides!>

Agree with all your serious-hat points though. Would add that 4-wheels (especially 4wd) gives you much less of a knife-edge on the limit. I was never brave/talented enough to really play on that limit on a bike, but find it relatively straightforward in the scoob.

I've been in touch with Paul Gosnell of UK-trackdays, organiser of Snetterton 28 Feb, who confirmed that slicks are allowed, with no specific restrictions.

Bloody hell. I wish I'd known it was Paul organising it. I wouldn't have had to deal with selling every space, dealing with every enquiry bar two, answering 61 emails and PM's and spending hours on the phone sorting it all out! ;) Not that I'm bitter :lol:

Joking aside, Paul is providing the insurance and his payment site/ facilities, arranging instructors..................if you read this Paul, I want a cut next time :)

Very sorry Stuart, I chose my words badly there!

Really appreciate your hard work in putting the trackday together.

No need to apologise, it's more of a standing joke between Paul and I :thumb:

No, not yet. The money-saving option would be to use my road wheels/tyres, but half-worn T1S aren't particularly good. I'll try to revive that thread on 22b...

Paul also told me that whilst they don't have a tyre guy attending Snetterton, there is the garage based at the track - Motor sport International 01953 887232 who often change / balance tyres on track days apparently.

If there is sufficient demand for tyre fitting sevices, I may be able to get Kingsway Tyres along to do this. MSI will do it, but Barry is or can be quite busy and his help should not be relied upon without prior booking.

Ah ok, my main set of trackday wheels are in need of a full set ... but I'm pondering options on which tyre at the moment.

Thanks again Stuart!
