Have to agree with a lot of what you've said there Stu.
The organisers spent years getting the format right, then Toyo pulled out of all motorsport leaving the organisers with a major problem.
In stepped pirelli to save the day or so people thought.

The 5% rule (if you finished within 5% of the fastest time from the next class up, 3 times, then you had to move into that class), which had been used to keep club class close was dropped. The dropping of this rule has opened the floodgates to really big power cars.

Our car was built to be competitive as we reserched the top club cars from 2008, 2009 & 2010 and they all had around 400 - 450 bhp/tonne. So that was what we spec'ed the car to. However this is now a fair way short of some of the cars.

Will just have to wait and see what this years regs are. Either way we will still be out to play.

Good luck for this season Pablo think you and Bart deserve a bit of success. even though it seems any form of success in Motor Sport is directly proportional to the budget (even track days) though you do have a top driver on your side so there is an edge you cant buy.

Thanks Harry.

Well, a bit of good news. Pirelli are out:party:

Club class will still be run on high performance road tyres, that's all that's known at the moment. As long as we are all on the same tyres that's all we want.

As a team we know there is an issue with pirelli however do you know for sure they are OUT ?

As all we know is that they can not assure TA that they can supply the right amount of tyres to support the series

Taken from another forum

The "facts" are as follows - neither of the cars on the Autosport TA stand are wearing Pirelli stickers, nor stickers relating to any other tyre manufacturers. We are told by TA organisers that negotiations with one or more tyre manufacturers are ongoing. We are also told that different tyre types will be available to be used in different classes, including full slicks in the Pro and Pro Extreme classes. That's it - no more, no less

Pro's on slicks ?

I cant see this myself .

And to be honest given the amount of work required to tune a cars suspension to tyre types i find it discusting and a discrase that time attack a few months before the season begind have not yet sorted this out.

This series needs some decent managment, thats a fact :D
