Also, worth pointing out whilst talking about laptimes that they can vary quite a bit based on track conditions EVEN IF THE TRACKS LOOKS THE SAME (and generally feels the same). Snett is less effected than somewhere like Donington but i've known National Circuit times vary by up to 3 secs, same car, same driver, properly data-logged and no real sign of any lower grip. By looking at the g-force reading however we could see that we were just unable to pull more than about 90% of our usual lateral g and, at a circuit like Donington in particular that makes a big difference.

Driver training
No, but i live fairly close, Nottingham area, Donni is the nearest. I rarely visit Mallory but I work for Lotus-on-Track who had a track day there yesterday. When I'm not instructing I am allowed to drive myself so did a few lapsGerry H wrote:What is your 'home' track Maxx? Wouldn't be Mallory by any chance?

Also at Oulton after the trucks were racing spewing deisel on the surface
I had my tuition with Maxx today at Snett and WOW. I knew i would pick up a few pointers but was and am still astonished just how much i managed to improve my craft. I've heard that driver training is the best money one can spend and today proved that without a question of a doubt. The quality of advice was outstanding. I'd never even heard of trail braking before today, Let alone how to balance the car etc etc etc. The result was that i managed to lap 2 to 3 seconds a lap faster.
I'm still running on 99.9% adrenalin at the moment so forgive me if the above makes no sense.
I knew my engine was on it's last legs and today...
