It's been a while since I posted a propper update, still not turned a wheel in anger - but with good reason, I accidently ripped out the old ECU and bought one of these:

Then I found I was up to by eyeballs in this:

Then thought "I should do this properly" so blew the budget on these:

And my bank account looks like this:

You're far braver than I am to tackle that wiring Chris. It's bad enough stripping looms down let alone putting new ones in. Who's mapping the DTA for you?

So far it's taken 2 days to draw out the loom in cad and probably take the rest of the weekend to sort it before I even get near the wire cutters!
I've got a good base map from before I should be able to start and run in with (plus the S80 has got a lambda target fuel map) so I should be able to get the fueling about right by myself initially.
My normal local tuner (Race Shack) has gone bust so I found a small place called "Mech Motorsport" which has a 2 wheel rolling road up to 275hp at the wheels so he should be able to get most of the map sorted, then probably up to "track n road" or "northampton motorsport" to get the really higher boost areas sorted. Powerstation is local (3 miles from my house) but I will never take my car there

Lovely bit of kit by the way. I bet it sticks to the road.
I can vouch for Northampton Motorsport they are very good at tuning Caterhams and kits cars alike. Their speciality is carbs and injectors and have their own injector flow test equipment, also know a bit about corner weighting and geometry setup too. Every time i visit they have a lovely assortment of fast old fords, vauxhalls and other desirable tuned old skool metal
Nice chaps to deal with.

Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

Waiting now for another execution date!!:headhack:

Although still not quite finished, here are a few photos of the wiring loom in progress...
Wires all coded up, crimped and ready to be inserted into the connector

The motorsport connector (20mm diameter!)

Close up of the sensor ends of the loom

The engine loom ready for the sensor connectors

Just need to finish off the sensor connectors then there's 8 other loom sections to build!

Thanks
I got the parts from multiple places, the heatshrink (plus quite a few bits not shown yet) came from Farnell Electronics, the sensor connectors from Vehicle Wiring Products and the Souriau connectors, wire and idents from BF1Connect in Diss - the most expensive bit though was the crimp tooling! - at least thats only a one off cost!!
