Waxoyl everything :?
(just ordered a waxoyl gun and 4 cans of bodyline cavity wax)
- Clean rear axle/subframe, strip trailing arms off
- Refurb spare trailing arms with new bearings, backplates, bolts, discs, shoes and pads.
- Re-paint arms
- Get the slide hammer kit back to Alan - I've had it far too long now
- Fit poly bushes to new trailing arms from old ones
- Paint up spare LSD and driveshafts
- Build up subframe and re-fit to car
- Refit brake pipes and handbrake cable
- Bleed brakes with fresh DOT5.1 fluid
- Few more bits on the engine as soon as I get the new gaskets from Andy (need to pay for it all and wait for delivery - and he's on holiday )
- Fit flywheel back on and centre clutch
- Choose a decent gearbox from the 4 I have spare  then fit it to the engine with a new clutch release bearing
- Fit engine and box to car
- Plug everything in (nothing is labelled this time but I'm sure I will be able to recognise where everything goes now - I've had it all apart many times before!)
- Refit prop
- Refit clutch pipe and bleed
- Fit oil cooler, fan shroud, radiator/fan.
- Fill with coolant and oil
- Fit headlights, grille, front bumper and number plates (before I do that I need to drill a fresh hole in the chassis rail for the bumper bolt to go through - that was one of the pieces that was replaced with fresh metal )
- Fit bonnet back on and fit new washer jets and pipework
- See if the engine runs :?
Then it's
MOT/tax, swap insurance over and drive!
So a couple of days and it'll be on the road then

[quote="1404 Matt Allcock"]Update (sorry no pics - forgot my camera yesterday )
Had to fix the senator yesterday as the altenator packed up... Luckily I broke down in unipart car park and I needed to buy some jump leads anyway!
- Rear subframe stripped and cleaned (only actually needed the subframe itself as I have spare trailing arms which are going to be the refurbed ones with new bearings.
- One trailing arm stripped down and what a bastard of a job that is... The slide hammer really worked a treat though but it took a bit of working out and preparation to get the best way of doing it. Then one piece of bearing was left on the stub axle which took an age to work out how to get off and another age to actually get it off!
- Bought a cavity wax gun from Unipart for

- Whole car is now waxoyled apart from the doors. Bloody stuff stinks and goes everywhere so some of today was spent cleaning cavity wax off the floor
- The other traling arm is now stripped down, all of which came apart a lot easier than the other one, but that bloody circlip is still a bugger of a job...
- Both trailing arms now ready to go to the powdercoaters along with the subframe, with all bolt holes plugged with old bolts that I don't need to use again.
- Water pump now on the engine. Engine is slowly getting there, just waiting for parts now from Andy.
- Found out that my mate who works at the transport company next door has a 25ton press so I can get the bearings pressed in to the trailing arms for free 8)
- Put a coat of silver Hammerite on the front pulleys and power steering pump pulley, need to do another coat tomorrow.
Need to collect all the bits to be blasted and/or powdercoated together and take them tomorrow.
Also need to carry on with the engine tomorrow provided the parts arrive...
