Oh Ian it just get's worse!!!!!!!
I called the garage and apparently when the other lorry came to pick up the recovery truck it tried to pull it out and blew the hydrolics on that as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They had to then send another truck to transfer my car onto and another larger one to collect the other 2 recovery trucks!?!??!?! How big do they make these trucks for gods sake?!
Since then they've told me that the oil had only 1.8 litres of a 5.1 capacity in it although I'd topped it up the night before and there were no leaks. They won't cover it within the warrenty that runs out next month!
The came back with quotes of bewtween 6-8k for a new short block!
Wronguns! They haven't even had the block open to see if it's just the crank that needs replacing, so I'm gong to get the car picked up from there and get it looked at closer to home.

Tommy Field @ Field motorsport in south woodham ferrers builds race engines. I happen to see quite a few big power evos rolling in and out of there.. im sure he could help you out mate.. and he's local

Nick, it's amazing how it can get worse, I think you need to read the warranty details further - who did your last oil change, if you can guarantee that the correct amount was put in - the warranty must be valid, oil just doesn't disappear without a fault.
Dum spiro, spero

I would really fight this one mate
Warranty will not "Run out" as the claim was originally instigated within the warranty period.
The repair can then be carried out at any time after, but the claim must be within the warranty period
Mitsi are just tryin to squirm out of it :x
They are notorious for tryin to get out of warranty claims especially on high power stuff.
Gary has also had issues with this as above
and members of my family have had the same.
The warranty will be void only if you have not had the car serviced within manufacturers Guidelines
IE: with a main or Authorised dealer using genuine parts, even down to the oil brand recommended by mitsi
Warranties are a minefield so check very carefully on the wording I would also dipstick the car to see where the oil level is now !!
They may say it only has 1.8 ltrs but have they actually checked?
They wont have topped it up so if its still full when you get it .............. howcome
I have been selling and promoting warranties for a long while and know the ins and outs of most
Worst case threaten them with insurance ombudsman
Often gets a result as "a gesture of goodwill"
Suz also works in the car game for an ex mitsi dealer and also reckons they will try and get out of it if they possibly can (part of the reason they got rid of the franchise)
Good luck mate
Jay
