Yes but I have been working this out that I dont drive it that much and I would prefer 'some' protection. The new seat rails will be lower so hopefully head banging wont happen too often unless Bohemian Rhapsody comes on the ipod

18.6 kg! WOW, my cage im fairly sure is 65Kg!

Ive used some FIA spec roll cage padding. Its hard so if you bump your head on it, it will hurt. But if you hit it hard with you head it will deform and absorb the impact before your head does.

Personally I dont believe the weight but we will see

Not wanting to be rude Duncan. But I would rather run with no cage than that :?
It obviously fits around OEM cabin, but looks like it offers no real protection or structural strength.

as already said, that rear suspension mount looks structurally very weak. any impact on that part of the cage will shear the bolts. when i had the off in my car the outer shell detached itself from the suspension turret (broke the welds), with the force of the impact being so high that the welded on plates (huge 4" by 6" items) flexed and cracked off the filler that was hiding them.

be careful, my off only happened at circa 70mph, although it was onto concrete

but the cage did its job in maintaining an area around 'you' (the important part) without major intrusions

no car is going to look pretty if rolled - the idea is to offer some protection to the driver and co-driver. The std in built cage of the subaru is actually pretty good, I am told. - I fail to see how supplementing this in any way isnt going to improve it.

Sure it isnt a 23 zillion tube structural cobweb but this is a road car.

IMO Dunc theses tyres of cages are really just for show. by there very nature they offer very little in the way of protection: They are a pain in the ass in a daily driver, insurance companies hate them, & the front cross bar is really lethal unless you are wearing harness's & helmet. Its a whole load of agro for not a lot. It's difficult to have a racer/road car hybrid :lol:

I dont see how running in TA with no cage would be safer than running with a bolt in.
