As you are the 'injured' party who can choose who appraises it - get it delivered to H-tech and have them quote on it.

We will speak to the insurance company to discuss who repairs it.......well in the cold light of day it doesn't look much better.
The NSF leg is pushed right back against the chassis and the slam panel and the whole area around the NSF is a bit twisted, Oh well untill its been assessed were not going to know really......as I said we have the original wings and bonnet so that would save on some of the repair costs assuming it isn't too damaged underneath.

Sorry to hear this John/Chris. Nice little car the Glanza's. If it is repairable, just hope you can get it back off the insurance company. Good luck

Thanks everyone for the kind comments its times like this when you realise how good it is to have a group of like minded friends to offer support.
Im sure the battle with the insurance company will be a painful one but we will try to get his pocket rocket back on the road soon and in rude health.

Thanks guys

Had some good news about the boy Chris and his car at last.........

Well it took some straight talking to get them to see sence but I think were getting there...

In summary on Monday Chris had a call from an un educated insurance handler saying that the car was going to be a total loss based on the age of the car and being an import blah blah blah....

Anyway as I am in a position at work where I have access to insurance motor assessors I went and had a chat with the guy's who decide what happens with the cars in this situation......very helpful and interesting advice was given.....

Anyway yesterday Chris gets a call from his own insurance company saying car has been taken for salvage and we will be given a valuation for a total loss........

Needless to say I was straight on the phone " Oh no your not I thought" Anyway after explaining to handler what we expected and that they were NOT going to write the car off without us at least having it assessed ourselves he agreed to get someone to call us today and put a stop on it being salvaged.

Today got a call from a very helpful young lady I explained where I stood on the matter and explained what we wanted to happen and she agreed !!!! Awesome so the car is now on its way back to Norwich and going to HTEC as Chris does know the car......and as long as it's not too badly twisted on the front corner once we get some of the damaged parts off we will know for sure we can get it fixed.

So it pays to challenge the insurance company for sure......and funnily enough the hassle was with his own insurance company not Aviva the 3rd parties insurer, they had accepted liability and wanted to fix the car and told me if I don't get what I want from our own company speak to them directly and they will sort everything for us.....

Result I hope.......So with any luck Chris's little pocket rocket willbe back to rude health in the not too distant future just a pain that you have to argue your corner so hard in the first place.

Awesome news - in reality it's none of your insurers business what you do as you won't be claiming off them !!! ... it's the 3rd party. I've had exactly the same scenario.

yep happy to take your money though..........I had always intended to challenge the decision and expected Aviva to be the stumbling point not our own insurer, Just can't believe it was so much aggro with his own company....they probably thought oh he's young he won't understand anything ! Well they got a shock when they spoke to me thats for sure LOL
