Ok so i know have a dilema:

Rangey now chipped, supposedly an extra 50bhp max although they do admit that it may not be that much.

I'm struggling to notice much difference, think it's more responsive at low speeds/light throttle but couldn't say with conviction it's quicker, but then is that because 30-50 bhp on a 3 tonne car that already has nigh on 400 isn't as obvious as what I'm used to???

Also, i pulled onto the m25 last w/end and gave it beans and it got to ahem, 70mph, then I had "engine system fault" flashing at me while it lost all drive and I coasted to a halt on the hard shoulder complete with the doris (not amused) and the cat (not fussed at this point but might have been had I made it sit on the banking waiting foir the AA!!).

Once I switched it off and it re-set it was ok and no probs since despite 2 deliberate trips out caning the arse off it to see if it would do it again - my discs seem to have gone blue again mum....?

So, the mapper has said he'll put another map on it - do i have this, or as I'm not convinced it's any faster do I have him put it back to standard an get my mondy back (he's a long time mate anyway and had said if i didn't like it he'd give me my dollar back)......

Why can't I just leave things alone :headhack:

Revert to standard. Chipping a 3 tonne car is like polishing a turd :D

Hope that helps!

Er, no it wouldn't, but that is neither here nor there as the Lexarse was bombed out last week for a Seat Leon Cupra. Turbo powered hatchback for the win

So despite this being the only "project" car on the forum that as far as i can see has ever been likened to a turd, the rangey is also one of the few that actually makes "big power" with remap, sports cats, filter, and little supercharger pulley she made over 500bhp from the old 4.2 V8, although of course I we could have had a much better discussion about whether to chrome or matt black the mirrors if it's really a turd

500?! My God!
Far from the only one likened to a turd mate; all of mine come under that banner :D

I would also 100% agree that the 'bigpower' tag is becoming increasingly irrelevant, but that's not a quick fix. So how does the old girl go then? It must be something special with that sort of grunt; any idea of torque?

Yours, in total envy
