Does it always start ok? Cheack the engine earth straps for good connections.

It does sound like an earthing problem....but have you had it on a scanner yet Trev? It just might be an ecu /uch (or whatever ford refer/call the secondary control unit) fault?

no been on a scanner russ , belive it or not i cant even find the plug , its not where its supposed to be, i had a quick look at work today underneath the earth from starter motor to alt was green and corroded, but i was a bit busy so jst gave it a wiggle :)

I do hope you`ve found the cause then and get it sorted before the weekend, so you can go off to cornwall with a clear head!:party:

off to cornwall this evening in the van fixed or not , probably not fixed but it seems to work alright for the last couple of weeks like it,

have a good one at north weald , im a bit gutted im not there to play

made it there and back 900 miles although i think my brain is still there , it was a great weekend with plenty of rattler cyder and good food in stunning surroundings.
battery light was on all the way home, one thing i did notice on my return is i only have one front side light (could this be the problem) we shall see
