George how can you say that mate. It is a simulator and argueably better than the last GT offering. The vid with the spins is just an intro vid about the game and not an indication on the game, look at the GT5 vid that's not all actual in game footage. It definately isn't like nfs !! I think the emphasis is a serious driving game but with fun being an added factor.

Time will tell, they both have limitations but in my eyes GT has more to prove than Forza, dodgy ai and lack of damage being the biggest culprits in the last games.

Let's face it you won't go wrong with either of them :)

Awesome demo - awesome game - you can 'feel' the car, drift it, slide it, really good dynamics. 10/10

The Porsche is superb, the Ferrari was pony. Nice graphics although the menu and repeated loading times for silly things needs to be knocked on the head after all of this time. I imagine that this could be something quite good with a nice force feedback wheel.

I haven't played GT5 or Shift so I can't compare. Good enough to get a 360?

Behave yourself.

Thing is, for a demo of that size (1.3 Gb download) it's a bit disappointing- 1 track with a 2-lap race in one of 4 cars, and a time trial in an R8. You hardly have time to get a rhythm going before it's over and you're back to picking a car again, and where's the multiplayer mode?

:D
if you press the Y button when the track discrition comes up , so you can see alll the lap times , you can then press the A button and hot lap as many laps as ya want with no other cars to bother ya .... Oh and if when ya on the track you press the left button on the direction thing that brings up the car telemetry you can change to drift mode and see how many points you can get

Did anybody else receive a package this morning from the postie?

It seems in anticipation of the postal strike, the pre-ordered copies have already been sent out.

Haven't dared play it while connected to LIVE in case Microsoft start cracking down like they did with people playing pre-released Halo:ODST a while back, but it's good fun so far. The game throws cars and Gamerpoints at you- only played 6 races and a "weekend event" and I've already won 2 more cars and over 120 points.

They've kept the lame pre-race sequence in though.
