Potential BP Sprint series 2009 (details)
Hi All!
I dont know if anyone else has already put this one forward but what about a bp one off sprint event (just for fun
) So that people like myself who would love to give sprinting a go (I can think of several other bp members that would!) can give it a try without having to go through all the red tape and faff :!: If we get bitten by the bug then maybe we could take it further, Ive read through the pages above and all the different classes etc... just makes my head spin  So what i would propose is a bp sprint event open to all bp members, run in a simular vain to the track days or the fab autotest evenings
I dont know if any of this is possible :?: But i`d be well up for it :!:
Cheers

Russell the class system, for you, is very straightforward. If your car has it's full interior, is road legal and runs on road tyres, not 888 type road slicks, then you're in B5 with Logan & co. If it's stripped and on 888 type tyres, then you will be in D10 with Mike, Stuart, me and others BUT you WILL need a cage.
Now your class is sorted, you just need an MSA licence. Piece of cake to get, no medicals, it's just a Speed, National B licence. Send the application form, cheque and mug shot to the MSA or hand it in at your first event.
You'll also need a decent helmet and fireproof overalls.
Best do it soon so you don't miss out.
There really is no red-tape, raffing or any hurdles. It's dead simple.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
Looks great, Stu and Gerry!
Have been a bit non-committal on sprints so far, I know, but I reckon this'd be the one to commit to.
Lydden - great little circuit, Goodwood - wow hallowed tarmac, Hethel - love to do that one too, Snett BP sprint - will be excellent. Why the 2 mandatory ones at North Weald tho?
Will need to clarify 1 detail for B-class eligibility in the blue book - the scoob has adj rear control arms now, since we failed to get any camber at all on the rear (production tolerances, I guess...). It's not running anything wild, just 1.5deg negative, and that's the only reason they're on there.

Bentwaters is the only one I haven't competed at previously. Due to my gearing I will have to avoid Snetterton and Goodwood, both too fast for my little motor to be competitive.
Hethel, is great, I had a big off there a few years ago, right in front of the MD's office
North Weald is great for newcomers to cut their teeth on, nothing to hit other than the odd cone or fire extinguisher. Its just difficult to be consistent without kerbs and apex's.

The reason for the NW ones is simply to support HCC and nurture our association with the club. I believe I'm right in saying, HCC membership is also a condition of participating in this little series.

If you think GW and Snett will be uncompetitive for you, you may also find that Bentwaters is too.
Don't overlook the handicap system where your car should gain. The bottom line is all about having some fun. Being competitive is important as is winning but nothing like as much fun as the back stabbing, bitching, protesting and general slagging that will go on
