Yep, i'd like to have a go at this sprinting lark. As i work oversea's, may not be able to make all the events. Is this going to be a BP inhouse series? That would suit me fine, as Bealo, i'm a sprint virgin :oops: But this sort of thing is just what we need. Sounds like fun.

Very difficult to find a balance where everyone is happy;
Airfields = Cheaper, alot less to hit (other than SDMC's double cones @ North Weald :roll: ) but ultimately it is cocking around cones.
Tracks = Typically more expensive, less run off than airfield, but tracks are great becasue of the prestige & history & can really go well if you've been there for a practice before hand.
Hills = Normaly mid price, normally quite narrow & intimidating & normally lots to hit situated close to the track, but it's such a buzz if you can thread together a fast tidy one (i'll let you know if it ever happens)
7/8 score out of 10 sounds good to me, the convenient thing was that this year the JISC (started as best 6 out of 8) overlapped with the Sevenoaks Speed league (best 10 out of 18) on 5 of the events. So for me personally it worked out nicely, if BP 2009 picks 10 unique events then i probably can't justify (or afford) running in 2 totally seperate champioships.
Ideas on possible venues/events:
With Sevenoaks MC I was invited to sprint at Castle Combe (run by Bristol MC) & the same day i could have done Goodwood (run by Tunbridgewells Motor Club). If we are trying ot move away from airfiled these are venue's i've not hear talked about on BP regarding sprints.
There is a "wales weekend" which is a Hillclimb on Saturday at llysyfran resevoir & then Sunday there's a Sprint at the Llandow Circuit. I've not competed there myself, but my dad jim has done for a few years religiously & really enjoys the "mini break" & also a few beers/meals/lots of talking bollox with fellow competitors, a long weekend but lots of fun
I can second Barkston heath as a fun venue, although it's quite flat it's layout is similar to a hilclimb, quite twisty & narrow, but without quite as much to collect, unlike most hills.
Just a few ideas really, i'm not megga fussy about what we do, aslong as it's a chance to have a hoon against the clock

Be a pigeon, not a statue.
There would be a high chance that most of the weekends will be shared events anyway Russ, so most of the sprints will be double headers with other series.

I'd rather do better venues less often than lots of cheapy cone spec ones, but I think you need a balance to get newcomers to have a go!
As Cadwell and Brands are indimidating tracks if your new to teh sport, whereas an airfiled event is less daunting and allows you to learn the car easier without major fear of barriers etc.
