I have to say that I find a lot of the comments about lines and driving style a little amusing. This thread is not the first to see posts along the lines of 'the driver could have gone quicker'

Come on guys, who the hell are any of us to get on the soapbox and spout off when talking about the merits of a professional driver employed specifically to extract a lap time by a manufacturer or tuner.
(Will all of the professional racing drivers please stand up)
Perhaps next time Ruf or Techart want to make a record attempt they should scour the forums first

Now, where the comments come in regarding the gearbox and his use of the rev limiter; all of that is interesting and 'valid'.

The pot shots from the side lines just seem a bit weak so I apologise if I have gone on a rant. A bit like the guy in the pub saying where Mike Tyson/George Best etc went wrong. Does that make sense?
