That's brilliant. I'd caught your youtube videos driving it about, but didn't realise the amount of restoration you'd been putting in. Very cool! :sifone:

Cheers boys - it wasn't the plan to do anywork - a quick flip I told myself - however removing the old incorrect markings made me realist how easy it was to repaint and one thing led to another - still much to do, luckily jobs are simple but usually need super human strength, for example to remove the top up plug on the rear diff took my 5 ton jack on the end a 1/2 inch socket to get it to undo.

I am a major advocate of 'Sea Foam' pentrating oil and the love for my impact gun has grown.

With 1950's trucks you have to remember - left hand wheel nuts are lefty tighty where righthand wheel nuts are righty tighty :)

After I replaced fuel pump with newly refreshed one that can handle unleaded. Also replace vacuum hoses so I can run my wipers. Wipers are turned on by opening a tap :) - the fuel pump sucks air from the manifold, then pushes it to the wipers. The previous owner has fitted wrong fuel pump with no vacuum system, obviously didn't like driving in the rain so wipers were manual.

3.8 Litres straight six flat head (6mpg goodness) - the valves come from below and are adjusted from the side of the block through two covers.

It sure does look like quite a handful to drive?
Six mpg almost makes the scooby look economical
Still good for you, it’s a bit more interesting than the default classic MG and being ex-military will probably far out live any of us.

It is a bit handful, true, pure mechanical, no power anything. A 3 point turn is a workout. Brakes are, well, just about there. A journey is a mix of excitement and horror, lol
