If you want weight saving, let Gary know when you get there and the lads will soon be on the shell with air tools........

the day off to collect a fibreglass bonnet.

im going to be interested to see what the weight difference is between a steel and fibreglass bonnet.
plus we'll be loosing the bonnet catch, cabling and pull mechanisum

We wanted to get fibreglass wings as well but as ours are welded on and not bolted on it would have meant a lot of work to get them to fit.

yesterday was a right kick in the teeth.
I think the first sign of a bad day was when traveling down the M6 at about 04.30 and we had
one hell of a snake with the trailer and we honestly thought we were going to have an accident.

we were lead to believe that our head was a 4wd head but after fitting the cam it required a 5mm spacer.
this indicates that it is actually a 2wd head which is annoying because,
A, we didn't have the spacer required.
B, the 4wd head is greater at developing more low down torque.

the other thing for some reason that has baffled us and Gary is the verniers we bought also didn't fit right for some reason.

so today I have ordered the spacer and a new pair of verniers which hopefully will be with gary tomorrow morning.

so to chill out today after buying the parts started work on the bonnet.
there are a couple of areas were the frame has come away from the top surface.
so have used some tiger seal and clamp the areas to give it a tight seal but once its
dried over night ill be adding some fibreglass sheeting to strengthen it up.
