SWB 300zx manual twin turbo
Re: SWB 300zx manual twin turbo
Haha that would be thinking outside the box. You do see though plato's law in effect that 80% of the work is being done by 20% of the manpower. If it wasn't for these few then the others would have folded by now.

If anything these guys are probably being a tad more proactive than they would otherwise have been if it were not for the "I'm on TV" element
it would be interesting to see how they would react if it wasn't being broadcast

I have relocated the battery to the boot for more room in the engine bay and here is the rough work so far.
Battery mounted in a tray in the spare wheel hole as there is no reason to carry a spare.

The battery starter cable is a new cable I made up with 300A rating pos cable the is protected by an armoured sheaf and ran under the car and into a hole to the boot.

The cockpit services pos that joined onto the battery cable pos has been joined to a new cable and run through the vehicle again to the boot.

I have a HKS earthing kit on the way for the engine bay to replace the earthing cables that were connected to the engine and the boot will be fitted with a MDF false floor to tidy everything up.

So having moved into a new and bigger workshop with somebody else I will have some time next week to get some work cracked on the zed. The new Odyssey battery has arrived ready to give some real starting power and hopefully the Nismo 740cc injectors will be on route so I can get them fitted. May get the cam covers powder coated while I've got the plenum off to fit the injectors as well as the plenum powder coated.
A lot more room to work in now though so it will install some more motivation in me to get things cracked.

I've managed to get a fair bit done the last couple of days.
Firstly custom fitted bonnet gas strut

Then today having spent most of yesterday putting 2 inch of suspension lift on the truck, got onto the zed engine and stripped her down ready for the injectors arriving.

Also the new Odyssey battery is in the boot and I've got the ecu harness ready to remove as I'm going to replace due to it being 23 years old and in crap condition. Probably the main reason the engine was running rough.
Next to order it as they ain't cheap but I finally sold my massive turbos for 1500 today

Nice
1500 will buy a few bits I'm sure. I saw a stock looking Z32 just the other day, and it continues to strike me how 'right' they are aesthetically. A lovely thing and ageing well.

New engine harness on order from the US custom
Made by wiring specialities £330 delivered. That will sort a lot of rough running issues and such that is caused by a wiring harness that is over 20 year old and been pulled off the engine countless times with corroded connections and broken fastening clips.
