I'm gonna' pop down to B&Q and get a 4' x 5' metal grill sheet then pop it into the zeds engine bay and have one bad ass BBQ this Summer!!!

Not really obviously, bits are being built it's just taking ages to source them, the turbos are taking forever because I've realised that some of the bits that were fitted to the tubs by a 'specialist' should never have actually been on there in the first place, so I've been running around trying to find replacement second hand parts cheap

It may be cheaper and easier in the long run just to buy a pair of secondhand turbos but that would blow my current £2k budget that I've set for getting the zed moving under its own power

Today I ordered some Japspeed diff poly bushes and a set of Driftworks solid subframe bushes, so next job is to whip off the rear subframe and diff and burn out the old stock bushes

the subframe needs to be dropped anyway in order to get the stock tank out (the SWB tank is different to the LWB tank, it actually looks like saddle bags and is a pain to remove)

There's been shit loads of non car related stuff going on in the background here and that has had to be top priority

I've just got back in from the workshop, the heads are on, upper and lower plenum is on so just trying to determine what gaskets are shagged or missing.

The thing is I've got three engines worth of OEM bits floating around here and just need to figure out exactly what I am missing so that I can start buying them in, if I can get the bits shipped over from the US ready for the 16th then I can spend a good solid 3 days building the engine ready to be dropped in next month

I've got to pop down to Abergavenny tomorrow to sort out the braided fuel lines and some adapters and that'll be one more job off the list

I need an AEM CAS disc as well

Just test fitting everything at the moment before bolting it all back together

the next job is to sort the old loom out as a lot of the injector and coil pack connectors have gone brittle and are broken, so they all need replacing with new.

Sods law the Large (15') car cover that was picked up yesterday doesn't cover the 14' long zed due to the bloody wing, so back to Halfrauds' to buy the next size up

niff naff and trivia but hey, it fills my day...

Just been for a run around the top of the mountain and when I got back this little beauty was waiting for me

I have a sneaky suspicion however that the joy of receiving them won't translate to joy in fitting them

Ok so maybe you have been a little busy and here's me thinking that you were just enjoying life on top of a mountain looking down at use minions. :sifone:

Just glad to see that things are still moving forward with the car :D

As always the stripping is the easy bit, so just so I don't get lost I'm systematically cross decking from the old lump to the new one. For one thing it means that I save a shit load of time that I would have spent sifting through boxes of nuts and bolts

I can now fully appreciate the benefits of working on a VG30DETT whilst it's outside of the engine bay rather than whilst it's fitted. The epic of getting access for removing and fitting pipes, hoses and clips simply isn't there

It would usually have taken several hours and a couple of shredded knuckles to get these hoses fitted, today it took all of 20 seconds each!!

There's an open invite for anybody on here, if ever you're passing by this way and fancy some lunch and a belly full of brews. Just give me a shout and I'll get the kettle on :)
