cheap and good quality
exhaust silencers
Sorry Trev, forgot about the 20VT conversion. Turbo will help with the silencing of course. Try to go for longer that 18" then. It will add a little more weight, but get the db down as much as possible. The silencer will get a little louder over time.
Wouldn't say that Jetex are that good value for money. I have lots of contacts for exhaust stuff so let me know the size you can fit in and i will give you a price. You going stainless or aluminised mild system?
Good luck

Likewise, the old GTti ran a Hayward and Scott single repackable silencer. The key is to make sure the wadding is always well packed before a track day. Jetex components are fine too. You will be surprised at what you come out. The other trick is to always have the clutch depressed when you go for a static noise test, makes a bigger difference than you might think.
