Went into work last saturday with the intent of cleaning the car and tidying a few bits on it.
But then thought think ill change the engine as you do, it was sitting there all pretty and thought that would look nice in the golf.
The 2 litre ABF engine and gearbox is not a hard conversion to do but a bit fidderly.

How does that saying go...oh yes....'The devil makes work for idle hands':D
Top job...well done. Think i'll change the engine...class...:smilielol5:

As you all know after our trip to the berg cup i realised my car was ok in prep standard but those guys take it to another level.

So iam starting with the interior as under the bonnet is ok with the new engine fitted i was able to tidy and paint under the bonnet.

So to the interior removed front section of rollcage door cards ,carpets , roof lining including trims then removed the dash so i could get to the rest of the sound proofing and remove all the wiring that is not being used.
All the stereo wiring central locking electric window loom etc surprising how much the wiring and buttons weigh.

Once the cage was out the way i could pull the dash out to clean it all up and remove the heater box to get to the sound proofing.

all cleaned just the sound proofing to chissel off.

Plan for the interior is,
flocked dash
carbon roof ( ordered 6 week delivery )
carbon door cards ( coming with roof)
perspex windows and sliders ( bought )
Then the rollcage tied properly into the A posts and tied in better, also
to the roof sides, and then a full repaint inside in red

Hoping it will be finished for the cadwell trackday in july anyone else thinking of doing the trackday?

All the best mike

Looking good Mike; I had a feeling that the trip may spur you on to greater things with the Golf :)

Unsure about the Cadwell date; the suspension and exhaust will be sorted by then, maybe even the boost too. Who is that with and do you have any details?

Logan the answer to you question is yes it will be sprinted and ive just read the rule book and the carbon roof is not allowed must stay as original construction.

So a phone call in the morning to stop that gutted it would of looked awesome.

will be coming to snett on the 29th to watch
