Al, what else have you got in your flat that you're working on that I don't know about or might have forgotten about:smash:.

Anyway, we had a little set back yesterday, we were all set to take the engine parts to be balanced at the start of next week when I got an email from the guy saying he was going into hospital for an operation and would be out of action for a couple of weeks.

Decided to get the car weighed today, just to see where we were. We've still got plenty more to take out but at least now we know how much she weighs.

1240 kg with a quarter tank of fuel.

as we are taking the car over to streetracers on saturday there were a few things that needed sorting out
1 was the screaching from the gearbox so after consulting Mr Haynes found the plugs for the transfer box and the gear box, after a little topup for the transfer box we done the gearbox, now the capacity for it is 1.25 ltrs and we put in about 0.70ltrs  so gearbox was close to dry.

2nd job was fit the passinger seat cuz im not sitting on a box:smilielol5:
also fitted the harness's as well

i also had time to change the sunroof as well and the vinyl i put on it is very close to colour shade of the car.

Go careful with those harnesses on a seat that isn't designed to use them (i.e. the passenger seat) I have seen some shocking photos of what can go wrong in an accident, with a set up like that.

Best of luck for Street Racers mate

I take it you are referring to the possibility of the seat callapsing in an accident which is a fair point. We never use the harnesses on the public road as we have still kept the OE front seat belts. We are planning to fit another race seat but were hoping to wait until sometime next year, due to the FIA dating.

Anyway, latest update. The screaching that we thought was coming from the original gearbox, due to be changed with the new engine, now appears to have been coming from the rear diff:mad:. That's the diff that Alan took off herbie and fitted to this car. So that's another diff we need to get. In the mean time today around the F1 Alan changed the diff for a spare that we had, although it's the wrong ratio.

The guy that is supposed to be balancing the engine is still in hospital till the end of the month.......

The guy that was going to be re-facing the block and head and honing the bores had his unit broke into last week......
