I really love Brands Paddock Hill and up to Druids is totaly fantastic, the last time I drove it was in a Caterham and to give an indication of how steep Paddock Hill is I was actualy looking over the top of the windscreen
But as a passenger I hated it I tried to get out of passenger laps in my mates F355 Challenge car because I made the mistake of looking at the floor when we went through the bend, allright after that one time
Finally found the camera from the bedford trackday of us in the garages, The track day was the first outing for the m3 which on the 3.6 mile gran torismo circuit was the perfect place to get used to the car.
The car performed faultlessly in every way the only problem was the bloke behind the wheel still had turbo brain in. the problem is the engine needs to be reved where as the impreza would pull you out of trouble and getting the right gear for the m3 engine to pull strong out of the corners.
so went out on track and in every gear watched the speedo to find out what the gears would take 2nd gear maxs at 60 3rd takes you to 100 so now i new if i came into a corner below 60 i could bang it down to second instead of waiting for the engine revs to rise in 3rd. once i got the hang of the gears the seats became a issue of no hold and i just got frustrated and i thought perhaps i got the wrong car which made me decide to buy somthing more appropriate.
But after going to the track day today at snetterton and driving the car for the first time since the track day today you realise how good these cars are as a alrounder.
so i will source a set of seats which will suit the interior which cobra do a seat called the suzuka which has a grey centre with black sides.
Went out in gerrys dax which if you get a chance just the lack of fuss about the way it goes about its job of just sounding great and what impressed me was the cornering and braking the only trouble i had was trying to stay out of gerrys way in the cockpit its tight in there.
I then swsapped cars with jamie he took out the m3 and i took his clio v6 out which i could of drove round all day with the whale of that v6 behind your head the car has a lot of tweeks including a bag of cement in the front.
The clio i found was a joy to drive you could just imagine yourself in a 6r4.
if you drove it smooth and precise no trouble but you over stepped the by a nats cock you can put yourself in trouble. As for mikes impreza had a few good chase laps with him his car ran faultless as usuall. all the best mike
