I think the first call is yours. This whole site is dedicated to people who are doers. Next year's MSA rules will require all of the competitive drivers to have the new standard of helmet, gloves and race suit. The track day drivers will be faced with a minimum standard of crash helmet.

If your prices are pitched competitively with appropriate club discounts, you have a good chance of flogging a fair few items. IMO

Depending on prices (and what I can afford) I hope to be joining in on a few things next year so I'll probably be up for a leased a new lid Eddy

Ok, a bit more interest now. We are getting there.

I am going to see a potential supplier later this week, but need to see some more of us that WILL need this stuff for next year on the list before i go for it.

My lid is upto the BS standard so that's fine, but I would be tempted with a pair of gloves

Unfortunately, i was late getting to the meet with the few samples that i had picked up.

The interest was ok though and 10 or so catalogues were taken so i am going to go for it and supply you guys what you need for next year. Spread the word as much as you can to get as much interest as possible and we may get some new members too.

For those interested parties, i have catalogues and the samples at the shop.

I have to finalise things with Stu, but the plan is to have the full showing/sale at the next/ final meet of the year. This makes sense as it will be the easiest way of getting all of us together in one place at the same time although i will have what is left from the display stock at the shop for a week or so after as a contingency for people who cannot make it on the night.

I am working on discounts, which will vary between brands, but rest assured you will get a decentsaving and get the high level of service you are used to from me. Bear in mind that this gear is specialised and you need to look/try before you buy. Doing it at a meet will save you loads of time & travelling costs to one of the few places that can supply this stuff and no discount!

Final details will be posted by Myself/Stu who is kindly supporting this event.

In the meantime, please decide from the GPR catalogue/website http://www.gprdirect.com/ what you need and your size.

When i have worked out the discount structure i will ask you to start a list of what each of you wants.

Hi,

Stuart and i have been liasing re this last meet of the year. It was this saturday after the trackday or a midweek evening early December. Stuart has plumped for the 21st as alot of us will be a Snetterton anyway. This is not ideal for me as it is one of my shop days.

I am prepared to get some samples/stock in and come the Snetterton and do a racewear event as long as enough people will commit on the day to make this worthwhile. I have worked out some products/pricing to suit all levels so you stand to save enough to make it worth your while. You will have the convenience of being able to try stuff on as you should with helmets etc and save on carriage for stuff i have in stock. Also bear in mind that vat will go up in January so the gear that you MUST have to continue your hobby/sport will cost you more next year. GPR have told me that they have got pretty busy over the last couple of weeks which they also put down to people realising that they have to get new gear for next year and want to beat the vat increase. They also think that there will be a rush in the spring when people who have left it untill the last minute to get kitted up. They/their suppliers expect to have problems with supply then and can only do so much to prepare.

So, lots of good reason to get yourself sorted sooner than later and with XMAS around the corner you can get your relatives to help you out with it in the way of presents (i am doing gift vouchers again if they want to do it that way)
